I can agree with every PS fan here regarding disliking MS doing this, but let's not pretend Sony's not been doing similar things in different ways and both of them haven't been doing it with their weird uncertain timed whatever. Same with both companies and "launch exclusives" and "timed exclusives" and Square keeping XB and Nintendo players in the dark forever regarding FF7R, never giving straight yes or no answers and dangling carrots forever. It's a sucky move, but there's been weird, obviously not quite on the level antics going on regarding this sorts of thing for ages with Sony, we've just never been able to finger them on it directly with embargoed press releases and such since it seems deeper rooted at the partner level, and they keep the charade going for years, not just 2 days. I'm not a fan of MS doing an "embargo of saying a game is coming to platform X", however, I'm unconvinced that Sony has not been doing the exact same thing for quite some time, selectively, going back at least to DQXI not being discussed for Switch despite being the first third party game announced for "NX" due to, quote, "adult reasons." I'm getting annoyed with both platforms and how they're handling multiplats these days TBH. Hopefully that helps clear things up for you. There's no outrage, and there's no drama. We wrote this article to clarify, abiding by the embargo, pointing out that it's not a massive deal but it might help you to understand what's going on if this ever happens again because personally I've never seen it before. We then received press releases about Persona and Wo Long, confirming PS5 but both embargoed until 48 hours after the Showcase.We wrote a new story and redirected our previous one to the latest news. Some of these articles/tweets got deleted as there was an embargo in place. A press release was erroneously sent out to some websites confirming PS5 overnight, and was reported as such.Games were announced at Xbox Showcase but were not confirmed in any subsequent materials for PlayStation at all.Tue 14th Jun We didn't have the press releases at that time, and it was worth reporting on.
